Springfield Overhead Doors by Hart has been locally owned and operated for over 50 years, providing the Springfield area with garage and overhead doors for both commercial and residential properties.

Our family business has been serving central Illinois since 1958. Howard Hart started the business out of his basement in 1958, after working for years as a general contractor. From 1958 to 1967, he operated as a one-man to two-man operation with his son, Randy Hart, and Wayne Yocum working as his helping hands. Eventually, the business outgrew the basement, and it was moved to a small shop on West Jefferson.

In 1967, the company moved to 421 N Lincoln Ave., where it still remains today. Our 3-generation business has been located at the same spot for 46 years. The shop has grown and expanded over the years as the company has grown in workforce, building on our decades of experience and our great local reputation. We currently have a team of 11, with a cumulative experience in overhead doors of over 60 years.

Today, our shop continues to loyally serve our customers’ needs each and every day. We now offer 24-hour service and have 18 different styles of doors on display in our shop.
